Earlier in November I had the opportunity to meet and speak with Robert Fisher, a Outreach Coordinator at the NorthBay Vet Center on 6225 State Farm Dr., Suite 101 in Rohernt Park Ca, about the services they provide to Combat Veterans readjusting to civilian life.
I was amazed with the wealth of information Robert was able to provide on the types of services available to Veterans & Combat Veterans ranging from PTSD Counseling, Readjustment Counseling (Employment Counseling, Guidance & Referrals, Martial & Family counseling, Medical Referrals, community referral resources, and resources for education), to resources & referrals for Applying for our VA Benefits.
Did you know that Dependents of service-connected disabled veterans rated by VA 0% or Higher might be entitled to a waiver of registration fee’s at California Junior Colleges, CSU or UC Campuses? I didn’t. Above all, Vet Center Services are FREE to Eligible Veterans.
Needless to say, I learned quite a bit about what is offered, where to go to get information, and how the people at North Bay Vet Center support us Veterans. I highly recomend anyone who is a veteran or knows a veteran who might be in the position to use thier services, to contact Robert Fisher at 707.586.3295, email him at robert.fisher2@va.gov, or drop by at 6225 State Farm Dr., Suite 101, Rohnert Park, CA 94928.
For more information you can vist Sonoma County 2-1-1, Veterans Service Office, or Dept of VA.
