Founders' Corner
I write about everything that helps US veterans, the organizations that support them, and US small businesses. And I propose to my readers that they also become involved in our important cause. Towards that end, I also write about HirePatriots' exclusive Cause Marketing strategy to promote the businesses that support us. And I introduce ways that patriots and veterans can earn an income from home or office through HirePatriots.com. HirePatriots.com is a program of Patriotic Hearts 501c3. We encourage US residents to post Day Job for their local veterans. And we allow any business to post their jobs and search our resumes for free too.

Set up and tear down for horse show Sept 21 & 23 at Lisa in San DiegoEvery American owes a debt of gratitude to our US veterans and their families. Now, those that joined after 9/11 and went off to Iraq and Afghanistan and to dozens of other places across the world are out of the US military and looking for work. Unfortunately, statistics show that they are not being hired. Over 50% of them are unemployed or under-employed and cannot support themselves and their families.
HirePatriots started in 2005 when our recent wars were in full bloom. -- We lived next door to a US Marine base.One day, a Marine, who had just returned from an 18 month combat deployment knocked on our door, less than an hour after returning home to his wife and two, small children. He asked us if we had any work that he could do for us around our home or yard. He said he could do landscaping, repairs, cleaning hauling ,etc.
This brave Marine had just gotten home to discover that his wife's employer had gone out of business months before and that his wife had not been able to find more work. -- Their electricity and gas had been turned off. And their family car was repossessed. -- We offered to just pay his bills right away, but he adamantly refused. He was proud. So he did chores for us the rest of the day. He was very courteous and hard working. And he earned enough to get his family's utilities turned on and a bit extra.
A few months later, we had a website built called HireMarines.com. We wanted to see if other local residents would also hire Marines who needed extra income. It took off like a rocket! Over 1000 people a day began visiting that little website. And that number still do, years later.
But as the Marines transitioned back into civilian life and were unable to find any work wherever they lived across America, they contacted us. "Hey, I live in Texas, Florida, New York, etc. Do you have those Day jobs in my area? -- We did not.
So now we are HirePatriots.com and represent every branch of the US military. And increasingly, we are planting local HirePatriots.com job boards all across our great country with the help of businesses and media outlets in those areas. And we have had US Law Enforcement and some giants like Verizon help us with our efforts too.
HirePatriots mission is now to create a nationwide employment safety net for all US veterans who are ready and able to work. So if you need any help with chores around your home or yard, pitch in and join our patriotic cause: Post a job today. And contact us about how you can spread the word where you live to the military, veterans, residents and businesses. There are lots of opportunities to be on TV, radio, the press and to talk at clubs, churches, etc.
