Hello, my name is Mark Baird. I am an ambassador for our US veterans and their families. I represent a non-profit initiative, endorsed by both Presidents Bush and Obama. — It is a unique way for businesses to increase their market share and to solve their hiring needs and to help US veterans at the same time.

We are HirePatriots.com: Our mission is to create an employment safety net for US veterans across our country and to stimulate economic growth for US businesses.

We began in 2005 in San Diego when a Marine knocked on my door and said that he needed to earn an extra $100 to keep the utilities turned on for his wife and children. My wife  and I gave him work to do around our home and then created a unique, free website for both US residents and businesses to post jobs for local US military, veterans and their spouses. – This simple concept exploded!

Within just a few months, this website was receiving 10,000 visitors a week! Residents loved it, especially Seniors. Companies loved it because they were able to fill their positions for free. And thousands of Marines, Sailors, Troops and Airmen and recent veterans were getting jobs every month. – So many were finding jobs and spending it in San Diego, that  the county’s businesses gave HirePatriots their “Visionary Award” for “Creating Economic Development.” And it became such a media sensation that it was voted the # 1 News story in San Diego in 2007.

Now, this is where it applies to you and your business. – As those Marines and sailors were posted at different bases around the country, they began calling and asking HirePatriots how they could get employment in their new area.  But we were only in San Diego. So we needed to find a way to expand HirePatriots to every US community and base that has a military and veterans presence, (just about everywhere.)

What we did is to contact veteran owned and patriotic businesses across the US and entered into a mutual Cause Marketing relationship with them. We gave them their own, customized HirePatriots website, job boards and blog exclusive to their area.  Then we worked with them to make HirePatriots the sensation that it is in San Diego. – We are now in 34 states and in 57 areas of the US. And some giants like Verizon and Pepsi have gotten their own HirePatriots.com sites to market themselves too.

Because of HirePatriots’ unique One Day job board, and because of the many other things we do for US veterans, we are a media darling. Since HirePatriots began we have regularly been on news stations, talk radio shows and newspapers. And our website is one of the most popular in the world.  As well, because of our popularity we have many volunteers to help spread the word in our regional areas for these business members.
