Sally Ride did not see her self as a Feminist. She was a woman who simply followed her passion with dedication and succeeded. Yet, she was a great role model for millions of American girls. She broke the barrier of only male astronauts. And she was a leader in encouraging girls to excel in science and math. She was a tremendous role model. And she was a true American patriot. She will be missed. We salute you!
Ride died Monday at her home in La Jolla after a 17-month battle with pancreatic cancer. She was 61.
